Aurora Dental Clinic is dedicated to providing the highest quality of dental services for your whole family. Our dentists advocate a non-invasive approach whenever possible. We believe that through oral health education and preventative care, we can help our patients achieve optimal health. Dr. Lucy Liu
DMD
Dr. Lucy Liu holds both dentist license and denturist license in Canada. She practices at Aurora Dental Clinic and works part-time as a Clinical Instructor at CDI College.
Dr. Liu has a passion for dentistry. She has studied and worked in different countries and loves meeting new people from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Liu obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry at Shandong University in China and completed her Master’s in Dentistry with specialties in Oral Medicine and Periodontics at the same university. She then worked for 8 years as a Periodontist at the Dental Hospital of Shandong University, while acting as a lecturer and clinical instructor at the university’s Dental School. She continued her studies and in 2006 obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Heidelberg University in Germany. She then moved to Canada, where she worked as a postdoc and teaching assistant at UBC and practiced as an Associate at dental clinics throughout the lower mainland before moving on to practice at Aurora Dental Clinic.
Dr. Liu also provides one-on-one instruction for foreign-trained dentists studying for their board exams.

Dr. James Hsia,
BSc., DMD
Dr. James Hsia has practiced general dentistry since 1981. In his extensive career, he has helped many patients with TMJ (jaw joint), facial asymmetry, and complex orthodontic problems. A graduate of UBC, Dr. Hsia holds a BSc. in Biochemistry, and a DMD (Doctorate in Dentistry). Dr. Hsia is a strong advocate for using a natural conservative approach to improve his patients’ dental health and overall well-being.
As a trained orofacial myologist, Dr. Hsia believes in the importance early childhood orofacial muscle training and intervention to minimize the need for orthodontics later in life.
Dr. Hsia has two daughters. His eldest daughter is a chiropractor and teacher, and his youngest is a Prosthodontist in the faculty at the University of Washington. In his spare time, he restores classic cars and motorcycles. He also loves to go sailing and fishing with family and friends.
Wolf Zhang
DD, RD
Wolf (Zhiqiang) Zhang (DD, RD) is a registered denturist. He has been a key member of the Aurora Dental Clinic team since June 2019. Wolf is also a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.
Wolf studied Stomatology and Prosthodontics in China and received his Prosthodontist license in 1995. As a prosthodontist in China, Wolf specialized in restoring the aesthetics of smiles with crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants. He practiced at his own clinics in Shenzhen, China for more than 20 years before coming to Canada.
Since coming to Canada, Wolf completed the denturist program at CDI College, where he studied comprehensive diagnosis, treatment planning, and denture fabrication. He has worked at clinics in BC and Ontario and holds denturist licenses in both provinces.
In his spare time, Wolf enjoys tinkering and repairing equipment. He particularly enjoys restoring antiques and art pieces. He also plays clarinet.
Benita Faghihi Kashani
Dental Assistant
Benita completed her Masters of Dentistry and Oral Medicine in Iran. Her research in Iran included an evaluation of maxillofacial prosthodontics at Tehran Univeristy, and the relationship between oral microfola and recurrent apthous stomatitis. Since coming to Vancouver, she has joined the Aurora team as a dental assistant while taking her Masters in Global Health and Human Services Administration at Farleigh Dickinson University.
Benita is experienced in working in clinics and health centers; she is passionate about helping patients preserve and improve their health. Benita enjoys traveling to new places, meeting new people, and spending time with her daughter.
